12/17/2021 – Sanitary District Minutes

SANITARY DISTRICT MEETING – 12/17/2021

Meeting was called to order by Richard Lowney, Commissioner at 1:00 pm.  Present were Richard Lowney, Brian Chamberlin, Keith Larson, Troy Kavajecz, DuWayne Zupke and Marge Ogren.

Minutes as written by Marge was read and approved by Richard, second by Brian.

Treasurer’s report was given by Brian, accepted by Keith with a second by Richard.

Old Business:

On-going discussion about the paint on the outside of the water tower.  It seems, after many discussions, reports and tests the primer coat does have lead in it.   We do have the quote from Lane Tank for $98,400.00 to have it repainted.  That should do the trick for a few more years but after that time the tank would have to be sand blasted or replaced according to the new rules put out by the DNR.   Sand blasting or replacement of the tower would take hundreds of thousands of dollars.   More details need to be worked out before we make any decisions.  We need to notify the Town Board of this problem, there is talk about infrastructure grants that might be available.   Marge will be sending copies of the minutes to the Town Board.

NEW BUSINESS:

We received a shipment of new meters but they are the wrong meters, the salesman will stop and pick them up and replace them.   Troy reported we will need to notify the PSC when we change out the meters.

Next meeting set for Friday, January 21st  2022  – 1:00 pm.  Changed to January 28th.

Meeting adjourned by Keith, second by Brian
