Regional Vaccination Site starting April 8th – UW Eau Claire Zorn Arena

Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Site at UWEC Zorn Arena opens on Thursday, April 8th

 

Eau Claire, WI- April 5, 2020 – A new regional COVID-19 mass vaccination clinic at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire’s Zorn Arena is scheduled to open on Thursday, April 8th.  The site is expected to be a significant asset in the community and region as we work toward vaccination of more of the community. The vaccine clinic at Zorn Arena will provide at least 3,500 and up to 7,000 vaccine doses each week with a maximum daily capacity of 1,400 people. As a reminder, starting today anyone 16 years or older is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Who is eligible: Everyone age 16+ who lives, works, or studies in Wisconsin

Vaccine offered: Pfizer

Cost: FREE. Proof of insurance or citizenship is not needed

Location: UWEC Zorn Arena, 121 Garfield Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, beginning 3 pm -7 pm; expanding to 11 am – 7 pm in late April.

  • Residents without internet access or who need help signing up will be able to contact the call center at 844-684-1064 for help
  • Walk-ins are not accepted at this clinic

“It has been a strong and effective partnership that is bringing this new vaccination location online,” said Kevin M. Sligh, acting regional administrator, FEMA Region 5. “Sites like this one in Eau Claire will help expand access and reach the Administration’s goal of ensuring every American lives within 5 miles of a vaccine location.”

This clinic will be managed by the Eau Claire City-County Health Department, UW-Eau Claire, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and the State of Wisconsin and supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
